The Geese of Wenlli Part 7.

The Wenlli gaggle live at Wenlli Lodge in company with Rodney Rooster (who turned up a few weeks ago and decided to stay), 2 cats, several rabbits and a guinea pig or two.

All the animals are shown the same love and devotion although the hand-reared geese seem to be more special than most.

It's Jill who takes pity on needy animals and once she finds one in need she has to find a friend for it so they can "talk their own language together".

Each year the eldest geese are found good homes to live in where they can start a new gaggle of their own. This year the choice of who to send off into the world is hard - it becomes harder every year as more babies swell the throng and become "specially special".

Pam and Ray were the third set of goslings in 2001. The next 3 pictures are of their older cousins.

The next three pictures trace Pam and Ray's monthly growth. In two months of life they have gone from fluffy balls of down to teenage geese, half down/half feathers.

Alas the story of little Pam finishes here as, despite the efforts of the vet, she died on Saturday 4/8/01.
Little Ray has lost his leader and mentor. Let's hope he can survive the trauma.
